Father Robert J. McNamara
Ordained in Thurles, Co
Tipperary, Ireland on June 7, 1969, he was appointed to
St Bernardine in July 2001.
He is the third Pastor of the Parish following Msgr. Murray and
Msgr. Paul Dotson. |
Pastor Emeritus
A native of
Alexandria, Louisiana and ordained at Saint Vibiana's Cathedral, Los Angeles
in 1943, Monsignor Richard H. Murray is the founding
Pastor of the Parish. He began the Parish in 1962 and retired in February
1989. He regularly presides at the first Mass on Sunday morning as well as
helping in many other ways. |

Father Daniel A. Fox. Ordained in 1982, he was
appointed here as Associate Pastor on July 2005. |

Father Thomas
Schrader O.Carm is the President of Crespi Carmelite High School
in Encino. He was ordained in Washington D.C. in 2001. |
Deacon
Jerry Cellner was ordained a Deacon in 1994. He is the
husband of MJ. Presently in charge of the
diaconate formation program in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, he and MJ are involved in Baptismal preparation, Bereavement
Ministry and Sanctity of Life, as well as many other Parish activities. |
Deacon
Dale Taufer
was ordained a Deacon in 1995 and is the
husband of Angela. He an his wife are volunteer chaplains at West Hills
Hospital, and he is also a chaplain at Motion Picture and TV Hospital. He is
coordinator of the Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick, and he and Angela are
involved in Justice & Peace, Bereavement, and other Parish activities.

Deacon
Steve Ellms was ordained a Deacon in the Cathedral of Our
Lady of Angels on 06/07/08. He and Sharon are very involved in the RCIA
program.

Jesus S Pasos was ordained a Deacon in the Cathedral of Our
Lady of Angels on 06/07/08. He and Eloisa too are very involved in the RCIA
program.

Visiting Priest

Fr. Leslie McNamara.
Ordained in Maynooth, Co. Kildare, Ireland in 1967. He is our Pastor's older
brother. After 38 years in the Diocesan High School, Fr. Leslie is now
working with the Colombian Missionaries. He is a regular visitor
on school breaks. |

Fr. Geoffrey Wheaton,
SJ. Ordained in 1986 in London, Fr. Geoff is the Chaplain to Imperial
College London University. He is a movie "fanatic" and when visiting Los
Angeles during college vacations, he spends a lot of time in the theatres.

Fr. Thomas Tifft.
Ordained in Cleveland, OH in 1969. He is the brother of parishioner Jan
Wheatman. He is the Rector and teaches at the Seminary in Cleveland. He has
visited the parish every other year since 1968. |

Fr. Jack Kane.
Ordained in 1970 in North Hampton, Penn. He is the Pastor of St Mary's in
Opelika, AL. He has spent 31 years in the Republic of Panama. He is the
brother of Dottie Barkes (b-i-l to Ray Barkes). He has been a regular
visitor at St. B's. since 1978. |
Visiting Deacon
Deacon John Coughlan
was ordained deacon in St. Patrick’s College Maynooth on Pentecost Sunday,
May 27, 2007. He grew up in Sligo and is scheduled to be ordained priest in
June 2008 for his home diocese of Elphin. He spent August 2007 here at St.
Bernardine’s getting many of his first ministerial experiences as a deacon. |

Fr. Michael Heylin. Ordained in 2004 at Trinity Sunday in
Ireland. He is currently studying at Maynooth College, Co Kildare in
Ireland. |

Associate Pastor Pro-Temp

Father Jude Nwachukwu is with us while Fr. Dan is
recuperating (starting Aug. 2008). Born in Nigeria and ordained there in
1992 for the diocese of Umuahia, he is on loan to the Archdiocese of Los
Angeles due to our shortage of priests. He is the youngest of three boys.
His brothers and ninety five year old Dad live in Nigeria. His Mom went to
the Lord in 1999. Only two years in our diocese, he has already helped out
at St. Denis in Diamond Bar and Our Lady of the Rosary in Paramount. |
Visiting Priest

Fr. Joe McDonald grew up in the Falls Road area
of Belfast City in Northern Ireland. Following High School, he joined the
Irish Christian Brothers and after teaching and being a school principal for
almost 25 years he then felt called by God to the priesthood. He was
ordained in July 2006 for the Archdiocese of Dublin. He spent August 2007
here at St. Bernardine’s helping out and getting an experience of the
Catholic Church in America. |
